Atkins House of Carpet began in the garage of our founder, Dick Atkins way back in 1972. Not long after, in October 1973 he opened his first location at 152 E Long Street in Carson City, NV that remained until 1980. Dick needed to expand to meet the needs of a growing community and customer demands. He built his next location on Hwy 395 at 4600 N Carson. This busy store remained until June of 2001 before the state needed his land and he was forced to move. Dick once again built his new store from the ground up. Atkins Carpet now calls our massive 20,000 square foot showroom home.
